Elder's Nguyen's Favorite Scripture

"And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.

"The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?

"Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever."

Letter Dated August 21, 2012

Xin chao,

Today was my first P-day.  It was real nice not having to go to class.

The laundry room was really crowded.

Went to the Temple today.  I really enjoyed going.

I might be getting sick, but I'm O.K. enough to get around during the day.

Thanks for the cookies and the soap.  For some strange reason, though, the cookies have a hint of soap in taste...

The language is a bit difficult, but I'll manage.

I joined the MTC choir.  We get to sing during Tuesday devotionals.  The choir director is fun, but not in the same way as Brother Stewart (he doesn't talk about pineapple and chocolate, for instance).

Speaking of the devotional, Elder Anderson spoke to us during the devotional.

DID YOU KNOW... today is President Monson's eighty-fifth birthday?  We sang to him at the devotional... even though he wasn't there...

In short, I like it here a lot, even though some things are slightly annoying, like the breakfast lines.

Love,
Elder Nguyen
